    Yale co-Hosting 2012 NCAA East Regional The NCAA announced today that Fairfield and Yale will host the 2012 NCAA Men’s Hockey East Regional at Bridgeport’s Arena at Harbor Yard, the third such event awarded to the two Connecticut Division I Universities. The Stags and Bulldogs co-hosted the first time with the 2009 East Regional at Harbor Yard and will host again at The Arena in 2011.

Dignard, an economics and mathematics major, was a second team collegehockey247.com All-American and helped Yale to an ECAC Hockey championship and an Ivy League championship for the second straight season this past year.

Chace Head Coach of Hockey and one of the most experienced and successful coaches in the United States, has been named the head coach of the 2011 U.S. National Junior Team. The appointment marks Allain's third stint as head coach of a U.S. National Junior Team, having taken on the role in 2001 and 2002.

Dignard was a first-team selection and is now eligible for ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America honors, which will be announced next month. Falcone was a second-team selection.

    Backman, Little Named All-America Sean Backman (Cos Cob, Conn.) and Broc Little (Rindge, N.H.), the leading goal scorers on this season’s Yale men’s hockey team, have been named to the 2010 Reebok All-America second team. It is the first time that either Bulldog has been selected to an All-American squad. The announcement was made today at Ford Field in Detroit during the NCAA Frozen Four.
