Yale Off Until January Tournament

NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- The Yale men's hockey team, ranked No. 10 in last week's national polls, moved up three spots in one and two the other. The Bulldogs (7-3-2 overall), winners of five of the last six games, are No. 7 in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Poll and No. 8 in the USCHO.com rankings after a home conference sweep last weekend.

The Elis ended No. 4 Quinnipiac's eight-game win streak on Dec. 4 with a 7-4 decision before a sellout crowd at Ingalls Rink. Yale beat Princeton 4-1 the following afternoon at home.

The Blue, which has won all three games against top-five teams this season, is off until facing No. 12/13 Ferris State on Jan. 2 at the Badger Hockey Showdown in Madison, Wis.

Yale's highest ranking this season was No. 6 (uscho.com) after its first week of play. The Bulldogs' best ranking ever was No. 5 in both polls last March prior to the NCAA Tournament.
