Elis Begin Practicing on Oct. 15

COLORADO SPRINGS, C.O – The Yale men’s hockey team is No. 5 in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine pre-season Division I national poll announced today.

The Bulldogs, who went 21-10-3 and were one game from a trip to the 2010 NCAA Frozen Four in Detroit, finished No. 6 in the final 2009-10 USA Today poll. They were ranked in the pre-season poll a year ago and remained among the top 15 for the entire 2009-10 campaign.

Defending national champion Boston College, which knocked the Blue out of the NCAA Tournament at the Northeast Regional, is the top ranked squad. North Dakota, which fell to Yale at the 2010 regional, is second followed by Miami and Michigan. Cornell, at No. 10, is the only other ranked ECAC Hockey school.

Keith Allain ’80, Yale’s Malcolm G. Chace Head Coach of Hockey, begins practice with his squad on Oct. 15 at Ingalls Rink.
