Seniors Gets ECAC Player, Goalie of Week

ALBANY, N.Y. - Chris Cahill (North Andover, Mass.) and Ryan Rondeau (Carvel, AB) earned ECAC Hockey honors today after leading the top-ranked Yale men's hockey team to a pair of wins over nationally ranked teams last weekend at Ingalls Rink.

Cahill, a senior forward who had three goals and four points over the weekend, had a goal in the 4-2 win over No. 15/16 Rensselaer on Dec. 3 before netting a pair of goals and an assist during the 5-0 win over No. 13 Union two days later. He earned conference player of the week honors.

He is third on the team with six goals after notching two multiple-goal games this season.  His career numbers are 22 goals and 54 points.

Rondeau, the ECAC Goalie of the Week, stopped 45 of 47 shots and registered the team's first shutout since March of 2009. He blanked Union on 30 shots after holding RPI to a pair of scores on 17 shots.

The Yale goalie currently ranks sixth in GAA (1.89) and 14th in SP (.926) in Division I, while the Elis are 9-0 with him in net.
