3 Bulldogs Make All-Star Team

AMHERST, Mass. – Three members of the Yale men's hockey team received Division I All-New England honors today. Senior goalie Ryan Rondeau (Carvel, AB), junior forward Brian O'Neill (Yardley, Pa.) and sophomore forward Andrew Miller (Bloomfield Hills, Mich.) all were first-time selections to this all-star squad.

Rondeau, who also received the Paul Hines Award as the "most improved player," posted a school-record 27 wins, six shutouts (3 consecutive) and a .928 save percentage while helping the Bulldogs go 28-7-1 and come within a game of the Frozen Four. He finished his collegiate career as Yale's career leader in goals against average (2.37), while the 1.92 GAA over 34 games this year was second among Yale's goaltenders all time. He was second-team All-Ivy this winter before being named the "most outstanding player" at the 2011 ECAC Hockey Tournament Championship Weekend. Rondeau was named ECAC Goalie of the Week three times and earned a national player of the week award from insidecollegehockey.com. He finished among the top five goalies in Division I for GAA and save percentage.

O'Neill, who is ninth at Yale with 69 career assists and 12th with 117 points, was a first-team All-ECAC pick this winter after leading the conference tournament champions in goals (20) and points (46).  O'Neill was selected to the ECAC All-Tournament team and ranked 15 nationally with 1.28 points per game for a Bulldog squad that was No. 1 in the PairWise ranking system almost the entire season.

Miller, a first-team All-ECAC and All-Ivy selection, led Yale with 33 assists, which was the second most at the school by a sophomore and tops in the conference. He was also an ECAC All-Tournament Team pick after assisting Yale in taking its second tournament title in three years. Miller finished second on the team with 45 points, including a dozen multiple-point outings.
