Miller Named First-Team All-ECAC

Agostino, Obuchowski Also Conference All-Stars

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ - Only five Yale players have ever been two-time, first-team All-ECAC selections since the award's inception in 1962. The current Bulldog captain, senior Andrew Miller, just joined the special club, while junior Kenny Agostino earned second-team honors and Ryan Obuchowski made the conference all-rookie squad as the 2012-13 All-ECAC Hockey Team was announced during the championship weekend reception at Trump Plaza Hotel.

Miller, a forward who leads the team with 16 goals, is 18th in Division I with 1.13 points per game after netting five last weekend, including a career-high two goals and four points in game one of the 2013 ECAC Quarterfinals. He ranks 16th with .52 goals per game, while his 19 assists (16 primary) this season helped him become only the second Bulldog to get 100 career helpers. Miller, the 2012-13 Ivy League Player of the Year, needs three assists to become tie the school record (113), and he is sixth on Yale's career points list with 150.

Mike O'Neill '89, Mark Kaufmann '93, Jeff Hamilton '01 and Brian O'Neill '12 are the other Yale skaters to repeat as a first-team selection.

Agostino, also a forward, leads the Blue with 37 points and is 12th in Division I with 1.19 points per game (14th in assists, .71). He impacted four (1-3-4) of the six goals on the last weekend of the regular season and then had four points in the quarterfinal series against SLU.

St. Lawrence led the way with three first-team selections. The Saints, Bulldogs, RPI and Quinnipiac all had three players on one of the all-star teams.

Obuchowski has been on the Yale blueline for all 31 games this season. He has three goals and 12 points.

The three Bulldogs attended the reception with their teammates the day before Yale takes on Union in the second semifinal playoff game at Boardwalk Hall. The winner faces the advancing team from the Quinnipiac-Brown matchup.

The Elis, roughly half of whom played at Boardwalk Hall two years ago during the 2011 championship run, arrived in Atlantic City on Wednesday evening and skated today at 12:15. It was blowing snow sideways along the boardwalk as the Blue returned from practice to the Tropicana Hotel.  Yale has a late morning skate scheduled for game day.
