Muse Joins Team USA For Worlds

Yale Assistant With Junior Nationals

COLORADO SPRINGS, Co. – He earned a gold medal at the 2013 International Ice Hockey Federation World Junior Championships in Ufa, Russia, four months before helping the Bulldogs take their first national championship. That was quite a 2013 for Yale Assistant Coach Dan Muse, who hopes to be part of a gold repeat with Team USA at the 2014 championships in Sweden.

Muse, video coordinator for the U.S. National Team, has a busy schedule during Yale's break from competition.

The 2014 Team USA training camp is Dec. 15-18 at the University of Minnesota's Mariucci Arena and the Gophers' head coach, Don Lucia, serves as head coach of the junior national team.

Muse and the national team head to Angelholm, Sweden, on Dec. 19 for a five-day practice schedule before the first puck is dropped for the world tournament held in Malmo, Sweden, the day after Christmas. Team USA will compete in a group with Canada, Czech Republic, Germany and Slovakia.

The IIHF world championship runs until Jan. 5. At most, Muse would be out of the country for three Yale games.
