The hockey teammates’ saw Kenny Agostino ’14 play for the AHL Chicago Wolves on Saturday before witnessing the home debut of John Hayden ’17 for the NHL Chicago Blackhawks.

    Doherty Joins Providence Bruins Mike Doherty had one of the most prolific post seasons a Yale hockey player has ever had. The senior forward racked up five goals and eight points over four games as the Bulldogs advanced to the conference quarterfinals last weekend. This weekend, he will likely make his American Hockey League debut with the Providence Bruins.

    Hayden Earns All-ECAC John Hayden led the Yale hockey team with 21 goals and was ninth in the country in goals per game, a natural choice for all-conference honors. The Eli captain was named second-team All-ECAC Hockey today.

    Hayden Agrees To Terms with Chicago John Hayden got better every season of his four-year college hockey career. In fact, Yale’s senior captain finished his collegiate experience Saturday night by notching his career-high 21st goal of the season. However, his 2016-17 campaign is not over because Hayden agreed to terms today with the Chicago Blackhawks, the team that drafted him before he came to New Haven.

    Bulldogs Fall Short in Game 2 If you were fortunate enough to attend the two ECAC Hockey Quarterfinal contests at The Bright-Landry Center this weekend, you saw a classic, emotional, high-scoring battle between bitter rivals. However, you didn’t see any surprises. Yale, which had a pair of leads both nights, eventually fell to No. 2 Harvard 4-3 in tonight’s second game.

    Harvard Wins Wild 6-4 Game 1 The Bulldogs scored four goals and were flying around Boston with great speed, utilizing pin-point passing and a ferocious fore-check that enabled the Yale men’s hockey team to take a pair of one-goal leads. However, it wasn’t enough against the nation’s No. 2 ranked team. Harvard, which improved its unbeaten streak to 13 games by remaining undefeated at home this year, captured game one of the best-of-three ECAC Hockey Quarterfinal series 6-4 in a wild, back-and-forth game.

    Tucker ECAC Goalie of Week He stopped 68 of 71 shots over a two-game, first-round ECAC Hockey Playoff Series sweep last weekend in his first post-season action as a collegiate goalie. Yale sophomore Sam Tucker (Wilton, Conn.) was named conference goalie of the week after helping the Bulldogs advance to this weekend’s quarterfinals at Boston.

    Beantown Battle For Trip to Lake Placid A first-round playoff series win last week gets the Bulldogs a shot at ECAC Hockey's top seed this weekend. The No. 8 seed Yale men's hockey team (13-13-5) visits No. 1 Harvard this weekend in a best-of-three quarterfinal playoff series at Bright-Landry Hockey Center. The Crimson (22-5-2), ranked No. 2 in both national polls, and the Elis drop the puck in game one on Friday night at 7 in a contest airing live on Boxcast.

    Blue Takes Game 1 of ECAC Series The Bulldogs broke open a close game late in the second period with three goals on the way to a 6-1 win over Dartmouth in game one of the best-of-three ECAC Hockey first-round playoff series. Mike Doherty, Chris Izmirlian and Joe Snively each had a goal and an assist and Sam Tucker stopped 24 of 25 shots to put Yale up 1-0 heading into Saturday night’s second game.

    Hayden, Snively Earn Ivy Honors The top two scorers on the Yale men’s hockey team earned All-Ivy League honors today. John Hayden, the senior captain, was a first-team pick, while sophomore Joe Snively was honorable mention. The two Bulldogs are in action this weekend at Ingalls Rink trying to advance their team to the quarterfinals of the ECAC Hockey Tournament.

    Dartmouth Back at Whale for Playoffs The Yale men’s hockey team (11-13-5, 7-11-4 ECAC) begins the 2017 post season by hosting a best-of-three series with Dartmouth, making a post-season appearance at the Whale for a second straight season. The Bulldogs and Big Green (10-16-3, 7-13-2), who met in last year’s quarterfinals, drop the puck at 7 on Friday night at Ingalls Rink. Saturday and Sunday (if necessary) games pitting the No. 8 and 9 seeds are also 7 p.m. starts. All games are streamed live with links on the Yale and ECAC sites.

The Bulldogs travel 10 miles to Hamden on Friday to face Quinnipiac in a 7 p.m. game that airs on SNY TV. Saturday night at Princeton, the Elis and Tigers drop the puck at 7 for an Ivy League Digital Network contest.

The Bulldogs and No. 3 Crimson (18-5-2, 12-4-2) skate on Friday, while the Big Green (9-13-3, 6-10-2) come to Ingalls Rink Saturday night.     Princeton, Quinnipiac Coming to Whale The Yale men’s hockey team (10-7-4, 6-5-3) takes the nation’s second longest unbeaten streak into a key conference set this weekend in New Haven with Princeton (8-11-2, 3-9-2) and No. 19 Quinnipiac (14-11-2, 8-6-1). The Bulldogs, coming off a sweep of Brown last week, host the Tigers and Bobcats in a pair of games with 7 p.m. puck drops that air live on the Ivy League Digital Network. There are limited tickets remaining for Friday's game (also on ESPN3), but everything is sold out for Saturday.

    Spano Named ECAC Goalie of Week Saturday night at the Bright-Landry Hockey Center, Patrick Spano earned a share of the Tim Taylor Cup, annually awarded to the most valuable player of the Yale-Harvard game at Boston. The night before, a former Yale goalie, Keith Allain ’80, earned his 200th career coaching victory on the Eli bench. The three-point weekend celebration for the Bulldogs was highlighted by those two milestones.
