  • Yale Home Again for ECAC Set

    The Yale men's hockey team, fresh off a big, three-point home conference weekend, plays host to New York Capital District Duo this Friday and Saturday at David S. Ingalls Rink. The Bulldogs (8-8-1, 5-6-1 ECAC) play Union (12-12-1, 8-4-0) and Rensselaer (4-16-4, 3-8-2) in 7 p.m. games that air live on the Ivy League Network. Friday's game with the Dutchmen is also an ESPN3 broadcast.

    Good teams find ways to win games following emotional rivalry contests. Yale, which skated to a 3-3 tie on Friday with Ancient Eight rival Cornell, notched a 3-point weekend by dominating Colgate in a 5-1 victory at Ingalls Rink.

    Getting a conference point off the No. 4 ranked team in the country is an accomplishment. The way the Yale men’s hockey team earned a 3-3 overtime tie with Cornell at Ingalls Rink tonight was the best part.

    The Yale men’s hockey team, winners of two straight and four of its last five games, is back in ECAC Hockey action this weekend with a home set against two ranked New York schools Cornell (13-2, 7-1) and Colgate (9-7-4, 5-2-1 ECAC). The Big Red, ranked No. 5 in the nation, skate at the Whale Friday, while the No. 19 Raiders and Bulldogs play Saturday. Both 7 p.m. games air live on the ILN. A limited number of seats are available for Friday, so connect with the Yale Ticket Office ASAP.

    The Yale men’s hockey team has won two straight games over quality Hockey East teams and has earned victories in four of its last five games overall thanks to a 5-3 win tonight over the UMass Minutemen at Ingalls Rink.

    The Yale men’s hockey team, coming off a win over New Hampshire last weekend at a holiday tournament, renews a rivalry with a bordering state school Friday night at the Whale. The Minutemen of UMass from Hockey East come down I-91 to square off with the Elis for the 23rd time. The 7 p.m. game airs live on Eleven Sports and the Ivy League Network.
  • 3 Bulldog Skaters Named to 2018 U.S. Team

    USA Hockey announced the first 23 players to its 2018 U.S. Olympic Men’s Ice Hockey Team today, including former Yale All-American forwards Mark Arcobello, Broc Little and Brian O’Neill, all of whom play professionally in Europe.

    Special teams were the difference in a 5-0 loss to No. 17 Minnesota-Duluth this afternoon in the Yale men’s hockey team’s opening contest of the 2017 Ledyard Bank Classic. UMD converted three of its four power plays while the Elis were blanked on three chances.

    The Yale men’s hockey team scored goals 48 seconds apart to break open a 1-1 tie midway through the third period on the way to a 4-2 victory over the University of New Hampshire in the third game of the Ledyard Bank Classic at Thompson Arena. Rookie forward Dante Palecco had a pair of goals and sophomore Corbin Kaczperski made 31 saves to earn the victory in his second collegiate contest.

The Bulldogs (4-7, 4-6 ECAC Hockey) travel South on I-95 to take on Sacred Heart (4-10-2, 2-7-2 AHC) Saturday night at 7.     Kevin O’Neil enjoyed his first trip as a Yale hockey player to his home area, the New York Capital District, last weekend. The first-year forward from Latham helped the Bulldogs take two points from a challenging road trip with a 5-3 win over Union last Saturday.
  • Kemp on U.S. National Camp Roster

    Yale first-year defenseman Phil Kemp has been named to the roster of the U.S. National Junior Team’s pre-tournament camp in Columbus, Ohio. The camp runs Dec. 15-19 as part of the selection process leading up to the 2018 International Ice Hockey Federation World Junior Championship.

    Ted Hart hit the net four times in a two-point weekend conference set for the Yale men’s hockey team. Three of those came tonight in a 5-3 win that ended Union’s unbeaten streak at five games.

    It may sound unfairly cliché to describe a 4-0 game as a balanced, close affair, but that’s exactly what happened when Yale hosted No. 13 New Hampshire at Ingalls Rink tonight. The Wildcats came out on top in the ECAC vs. Hockey East contest, the first between these schools in 11 years, but it was an excellent college hockey game.

  • Tucker’s Effort Not Enough For Elis

    Throughout the season, Sam Tucker has shown an ability to stand on his head for the Yale Bulldogs. Saturday night, despite his best efforts, the Bulldogs fell to the Quinnipiac Bobcats 3-0. Tucker finished with 40 saves, a season high, in the loss.
  • Power Play Propels Princeton Past Yale

    The Princeton power play was extremely effective tonight in an ECAC Hockey contest at Baker Rink. The Tigers, despite goals from four different Yale skaters and a late surge, scored on three of their eight advantages on the way to a 5-4 win.

  • Palecco Gets 2 ECAC Awards

    Dante Palecco, a Yale freshman forward from Whippany, N.J., hit the net for the first time in his collegiate career last weekend during a two-point team conference weekend. Before the set was complete, he had four goals and five points, good enough to earn ECAC Hockey Offensive Player and Rookie of the Week.

    A day after falling behind early before coming back, the Yale Bulldogs had the script flipped on Saturday night. After scoring the first goal, the Bulldogs gave up four unanswered goals to fall to Clarkson 4-1 on home ice.

    The best way to celebrate your first collegiate game with a goal is to make it a hat trick. Freshman forward Dante Palecco became just the fourth rookie in Yale hockey history to score three times in a game as the Bulldogs beat St. Lawrence 6-1 in ECAC play before 3,031 at Ingalls Rink.
