  • Power Play Propels Princeton Past Yale

    The Princeton power play was extremely effective tonight in an ECAC Hockey contest at Baker Rink. The Tigers, despite goals from four different Yale skaters and a late surge, scored on three of their eight advantages on the way to a 5-4 win.
  • Road Trip to NJ and CT This Weekend

    Yale travels to Princeton and Quinnipiac this weekend after beginning the season with three straight conference splits. Both are 7 p.m. puck drops. Friday's game at Baker Rink airs live on the ILN. Saturday's game at Hamden is on ESPN3 and TSN Go in Canada.
  • Palecco Gets 2 ECAC Awards

    Dante Palecco, a Yale freshman forward from Whippany, N.J., hit the net for the first time in his collegiate career last weekend during a two-point team conference weekend. Before the set was complete, he had four goals and five points, good enough to earn ECAC Hockey Offensive Player and Rookie of the Week.

    A day after falling behind early before coming back, the Yale Bulldogs had the script flipped on Saturday night. After scoring the first goal, the Bulldogs gave up four unanswered goals to fall to Clarkson 4-1 on home ice.

    The best way to celebrate your first collegiate game with a goal is to make it a hat trick. Freshman forward Dante Palecco became just the fourth rookie in Yale hockey history to score three times in a game as the Bulldogs beat St. Lawrence 6-1 in ECAC play before 3,031 at Ingalls Rink.

    Joe Snively had two goals while twins Evan and Mitchell Smith combined for three points as the Yale men’s hockey team skated past Brown 5-2 at Meehan Auditorium in the second game of the regular season for both squads.

    The Bulldogs are opening the 2017-18 season in unique fashion. For the first time ever, the Yale men’s hockey team begins a season with a home-and-home against its ECAC travel partner Brown. The Bears and Bulldogs skate Friday at Ingalls Rink and Saturday at Meehan Auditorium. Both puck drops are 7 p.m. and air live on the Ivy League Network.
  • U.S. Team With 4 Yalies Plays Friday

    Four former Yale All-American forwards currently playing professionally in Europe have been selected to the U.S. National Team for next month’s Deutschland Cup. Mark Arcobello ’10, Sean Backman ’10, Broc Little ’11 and Brian O’Neill ’12, all of whom skated together for Keith Allain ’80, Yale’s Malcolm G. Chace Head Coach, will be with their college coach in Germany for the competition that helps determine who will be on the U.S. Olympic Team roster for February’s Winter Games in South Korea.

    Friday the 13th brought good fortune for the Yale men’s hockey team and one of its star forwards in an opening night exhibition game against Western Ontario. Joe Snively, who had two goals and four assists, had his hand on every Bulldog goal in a 6-4 win at Ingalls Rink.

    Keith Allain ’80, Yale’s Malcolm G. Chace Head Coach, will be on a United States Olympic Coaching Staff for a third time this winter. The former Yale goalie, who has compiled a .602 winning percentage and a national title over 11 seasons in New Haven, has been named an assistant coach for the 2018 U.S. squad that competes in the XXIII Winter Olympic Games at PyeongChang, South Korea.
