  • Hitchcock Inks ATO With Bridgeport

    Ryan Hitchcock has played in the USHL before skating four years in NCAA Division I Hockey. He also has amateur international experience with Team USA. Today, the senior Yale captain inked a deal to try the next level of hockey. Hitchcock signed an amateur tryout agreement with the AHL Bridgeport Sound Tigers today.
  • Snively Earns All-ECAC Hockey Honors

    Joe Snively has 103 points in 96 career college games. The Yale junior forward had a career-high 36 of those this winter, which helped him earn a spot on the All-ECAC Hockey second-team.

    Joe Snively and Ryan Hitchcock were named to the 2017-18 All-Ivy League Team selected by the head coaches. Snively was a unanimous choice on the first team, while Hitchcock was honorable mention.
  • Playoffs Begin Friday Night at Whale

    The Yale men's hockey team (15-13-1, 10-11-1 ECAC) hosts Quinnipiac (14-16-4, 9-11-2) this weekend in a best-of-three first round ECAC Hockey Playoff Series. The New Haven County rivals square off Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. with a Sunday 5 p.m. contest if necessary. All Games (tickets available) air live on BoxCast TV and are on a delayed broadcast through Eleven Sports TV.

    Kevin O’Neil saved his best night as a Bulldog for the biggest night of the season. Yale’s first-year forward scored twice, including the game-winner with 3:16 left, in a 2-1 regular season-ending victory over Harvard before a raucous sellout crowd at Ingalls Rink.

    Joe Snively had another big night for the Yale Men’s Hockey Team, but it wasn’t enough to lift the Bulldogs to victory on the last Friday of the regular season. Dartmouth spoiled the Eli forward’s four-point night with a 6-4 win before a full house.
  • Bulldogs Bark in Near Upset of Czechs

    They played so well and came so close to helping the U.S. Olympic Men’s Ice Hockey Team register a quarterfinals upset. Brian O’Neill ’12, Mark Arcobello ’10 and Broc Little ’11 all played prominent roles in a 3-2 loss to the Czech Republic that ended in a 1-0 shootout.

    Mark Arcobello ’10 had a goal and Broc Little ’11 and Brian O’Neill ’12 had assists as Team USA survived a physical match to advance to the quarterfinal round with a 5-1 win over Slovakia Tuesday afternoon at the Gangneung Hockey Center.
  • Dartmouth, Harvard Come For Final Weekend

    The Yale men’s hockey team (14-12-1, 9-10-1 ECAC) aspires to skate at the Whale in the post season. Heading into this weekend’s ECAC Hockey set with Dartmouth (12-13-2, 10-9-1) and Harvard (13-10-4, 11-6-3), the Bulldogs can clinch a home ECAC Hockey series with four points during the last two games of the regular season. The Elis, who have won 5 of their last 6, skate with the Big Green on Friday to kick off Yale Hockey Alumni Weekend. Saturday, in a game airing live on ESPN3, the Blue hosts the Crimson. Both 7 p.m. games, which comprise Yale’s Senior Weekend, can be seen live on the Ivy League Network.
  • No. 4 Cornell Escapes with 3-2 Win

    Corbin Kaczperski had a career-high 36 saves and earned an assist on one of his team’s goals. However, that wasn’t enough to keep its win streak alive for the Yale men’s hockey team as it fell to No. 4 Cornell 3-2 in another classic contest in this storied rivalry.

    Joe Snively has five goals and six points over his last two games. Three of those points came tonight at Class of 1965 Arena in a 4-3 Yale victory over Colgate that made it five straight wins for the Bulldogs who moved into fifth place in ECAC Hockey.

    Brian O’Neill ’12 had 163 points, including 69 goals, in his four-year hockey career at Yale, so fans in New Haven were not surprised to see the Team USA forward score a goal and hand out an assist in the men’s opener of the Winter Olympic Hockey Tournament at Kwandong Hockey Center.

    The U.S. Men’s Ice Hockey Team opens play in the 2018 Winter Olympic Games tomorrow morning at 7 a.m. (NBCSN). Wednesday is also the Olympic debuts for former Yale All-Americans Mark Arcobello ’10, Broc Little ’11 and Brian O’Neill ’12, who helped build the Bulldogs into the program that won the 2013 NCAA Championship.

    The last time the Yale men’s hockey team had two players record hat tricks, a current Olympian, Broc Little ’11, and a guy who has played in the NHL, Kenny Agostino ’14, shared the spotlight in a 2011 win over Holy Cross. It happened again tonight as the Bulldogs beat Princeton 7-2, increased their win streak to four games and earned a 4-point weekend sweep.
  • Bulldogs Beat Bobcats 3-2 in Wild One

    His team was clinging to a one-goal lead against a local rival late in the third period, and Yale junior goalie Sam Tucker watched as one of his penalty-killers broke a stick. Tucker, who was already facing a 6-on-4, and the Bulldogs killed off the advantage while running out the clock in a 3-2 ECAC Hockey victory over Quinnipiac before a sold out Ingalls Rink.
  • Former Bulldogs Headed to PyeongChang 2018

    Former Yale All-American forwards from consecutive classes Mark Arcobello '10, Broc Little '11 and Brian O'Neill '12 will be wearing red, white and Blue for the 2018 U.S. Olympic Men's Ice Hockey Team. All three play professionally in Europe and skated for Keith Allain '80, Yale's Malcolm G. Chace Head Coach, who is an assistant on the 2018 U.S. Olympic Team. These Elis represent the United States at the 2018 Olympic Winter Games, Feb. 9-25 in PyeongChang, South Korea. The opening game for the U.S. men in the 2018 Olympic Winter Games is Feb. 14 against Slovenia.
  • Quinnipiac, Princeton Come to Whale

    The Yale men’s hockey team trails 8th place Quinnipiac by a point, while Princeton is two points away in the 6th. Both of those ECAC Hockey squads are in New Haven this weekend as the conference teams jockey for playoff positions. The Bulldogs and Bobcats square off Friday in a game airing live on WCTX/My9 and the Ivy League Network. Saturday’s Yale-Princeton contest is an Ivy Network broadcast. Both puck drops are 7 p.m. with limited ticket availability.
  • Smith's OT Goal Gives Yale 4-3 Win over ASU

    Outshooting a team 56-27 doesn’t always lead to an easy win. Sometimes the “W” even goes to the team with fewer shots, unless you are the Yale men’s hockey team in a weekend series against Arizona State. For the second straight night, the Bulldogs found the net in overtime after dominating offensive chances. Evan Smith went top shelf at the 2:55 mark of the extra session to give his team a 4-3 win over the Sun Devils at Ingalls Rink.

    Joe Snively had a game-high seven shots on target tonight while creating great scoring chances for his teammates all night. His final shot was the one that everyone at Ingalls Rink will remember because it gave the Yale men’s hockey team a 3-2 win in overtime against Arizona State.

  • SLU Goalie Stops All 53 Shots in 1-0 Win

    Sophomore Corbin Kaczperski stopped 27 of 28 shots, a performance that typically gets the Yale men’s hockey team a victory. However, his counterpart, Arthur Brey, turned aside all 53 shots that came his way as St. Lawrence earned a 1-0 ECAC Hockey win at Appleton Arena.
  • No. 2 Clarkson Takes 4-1 Decision

    The Yale men’s hockey team faced one of its greatest challenges of the season tonight on the road against the No. 2 team in the country. Clarkson got goals from three different players on the way to a 4-1 win that improved its record to 19-4-2 (11-1-1 ECAC).
  • North Country Road Test This Weekend

    The Yale men's hockey team, which has five points over its last two conference weekends, has a huge road test this weekend in the North Country. The Bulldogs face No. 2/3 Clarkson at Potsdam on Friday before skating against St. Lawrence at Canton, a difficult place to play for road squads. Both games start at 7 p.m. and air live on the home school websites.
