Top Dogs Lead Yale Into ECAC Playoffs

PRINCETON, N.J. – Joe Snively and Ryan Hitchcock, two key members of the Yale men's hockey team, were named to the 2017-18 All-Ivy League Team selected by the head coaches. Snively was a unanimous choice on the first team, while Hitchcock was honorable mention.

Snively and Hitchcock, who have combined for 170 career points, lead the Blue into the ECAC Hockey Playoffs this weekend at Ingalls Rink against Quinnipiac. It's a best-of-three series that begins Friday at 7 p.m.

A junior forward from Herndon, Va., Snively leads the nation with 3 shorthanded goals and is second with 5 game-winners. The semifinalist for the Walter Brown Award is 5th nationally with .66 goals per game and 10th in Division I with 1.24 points per game. He tops Yale with 19 goals and 36 points after notching 7 goals and 13 points over the last 5 games, including his first collegiate hat trick on Feb. 10 against Princeton.

Hitchcock, the senior captain, is second on the team with 19 points. The Manhasset, N.Y., native has notched 20 goals and 67 points in his 101-game college career, which has been shortened by injuries the last two seasons.
