Kaczperski Has 26 Saves, O'Neil Gets a Goal

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Four players scored goals and Keith Petruzzelli made 19 saves as Quinnipiac beat Yale 4-1 and registered a sweep of the ECAC Hockey best-of-three playoff series at Ingalls Rink.

The Bulldogs (15-15-1), who had a goal from freshman Kevin O'Neil and 26 saves from sophomore Corbin Kaczperski, were outshot 30-21 and went scoreless on two power plays.

Kaczperski did all he could to hold off the Bobcats but could not get any support at the other end. He stopped all 11 shots aimed at him in the first, including the most difficult one.

As time ran out on a Quinnipiac advantage, Odeen Tufto stood on the doorstep with an open side of the net waiting for a pass. The sophomore goalie bounced to his left and got a piece of the one-timer, the closest anyone came to finding the net in scoreless opening period.

Quinnipiac scored twice in the second period and added a third in the final frame before O'Neil grabbed a puck in neutral ice and then cruised in over the blueline. He sent a rising wrister into the upper left corner of the net to make it 3-1.

The visitors potted an empty-netter to end any hopes of a comeback while putting an end to the Yale season.
