2008-09: Started four games and had impressive .911 save percentage with a 2.71 GAA... Best night came at Harvard when he stopped 32 of 34 shots in Yale win... Made 27 saves but lost in OT at St. Lawrence... Stopped 26 in 2-2 OT tie with Saints at Ingalls.

2007-08: Started 25 of 28 games... 2.51 GAA with 624 saves and a .910 save percentage... 13-8-4 record... Ranked 18th in NCAA Division I in winning percentage with .600... Named ECAC player of the week on November 19th.... Recorded first career shutout in 2-0 win over Brown on 0/27...Semifinalist for 2007 Walter Brown Award which is presented annually to the best American-born college hockey player in New England.

2006-07: Saw action in two home contests: coming in for relief vs. St. Lawrence (12/2) and getting start against Nebraska-Omaha (12/30)... Made 36 overall saves and allowed five goals.

Before Yale: Leading goalie for the 2005-06 Salmon Arm Silverbacks (BCHL)... Had 18-10-0 record in 30 games and posted a .894 save percentage... Also played two years for the USA National Development Program... Played 65 games with a .896 save percentage... In addition to playing against Div. 1 college teams, helped the U.S. National Team win gold at the U-18 Five Nations (Piestany, Slovakia), Four Nations (Ann Arbor, MI), and U-18 Five Nations (Tjorns, Sweden)... In 2001-02 he skated for the Taft School (Waterbury, Conn.) and was the first freshman in the school's history to be a member of the varsity ice hockey team... Dean's List at Taft and Huron High.

Personal: William A.D. Blase is the son of Bill and Maria Blase and resides in Santa Monica, CA... Sister Elizabeth was the captain of the Women's varsity fencing team at Harvard from 2002-04... Blase was the goalie for two USA Hockey Tier 1 National Championships as a Peewee and Bantam for the L.A. Junior Kings AAA Hockey Club. He is in Ezra Stiles College and current President of Sigma Nu fraternity.
