Tsouris Taken in 4th Round of MLL Draft
Yale Senior Competed in Warrior Challenge in Bowl
NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Nick Tsouris (Stony Brook, NY), Yale's senior midfielder, was selected in the fourth round of tonight's Major League Lacrosse Draft by the Boston Cannons. The draft was held inside his alma mater's Payne Whitney Gym. Tsouris, the 21st player taken among the six MLL teams, competed in the 2010 Warrior Lacrosse Challenge (college all-stars vs. Team USA) at the Yale Bowl this afternoon.
Tsouris, the ninth Bulldog selected in the MLL Draft since Marko Lujic in 2002, was the first Ivy League player picked in today's event. The graduate of two weeks took part in the college all-star's 12-11 victory that was cut short by bad weather. It was played under MLL rules as part of Team USA's preparation for the 2010 World Games in Manchester, England.
A second-team All-Ivy and All-New England pick this spring, Tsouris helped the Elis go 10-4 and earn a share of the Ivy championship.
