Gibson Ivy Player of Week
Senior Honored For 7-Goal Week
PRINCETON, N.J. – Matt Gibson (Point Lookout, N.Y.) scored seven goals and had eight points over two Yale victories last week. A productive week like that deserves recognition, so it's no surprise that the senior attackman was named Ivy League Player of the Week.
He scored three times and had an assist in the win at Providence last Tuesday before hitting the net four times in the 13-11 victory at Dartmouth on Saturday.
Gibson leads the 2012 team with 30 points and 17 goals following the huge two-game set that propelled the Elis to a three-game win streak and a No. 20 ranking.
Matt is a two-time honorable mention All-America selection and 2011 first-team All-Ivy pick who was named on the 2012 Tewaaraton Award Watch List. A 2010 second-team All-Ivy pick, he is tied with his brother, Brendan, captain of the 2010 team, for seventh place on the Yale career points list with 141.
He and the Bulldogs look to make it four in a row on Friday night at Brown.
