Three Elis Picked for All-America

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The pre-season picks came out today and the Yale men's team has mentions throughout, including four all-league and three All-America selections.

The Bulldogs, slated third in the Ivy League Pre-Season Coaches Poll, have a pair of seniors on's third-team All-America squad, attackman Brandon Mangan (Wantagh, NY) and face-off specialist Dylan Levings (Massapequa, NY).

Mangan, a Tewaaraton Trophy Candidate and honorable mention All-America pick last spring, led the Blue with 39 goals and 64 points in 2013. Levings (in photo), who had the same All-America honor, was seventh among Division I players in face-off percentage (.597) and ground balls (7.59).

The other All-America pick was sophomore defenseman Michael Quinn (Port Washington, NY), who had 27 ground balls and 14 caused turnovers last spring.

Senior defenseman and team captain Jimmy Craft (Darien, Conn.) and junior midfielder Harry Kucharczyk (Manhasset, NY) join Mangan and Levings on the website's pre-season All-Ivy team. Craft had 39 ground balls and caused 17 turnovers last spring, while Kucharczyk had 33 and seven.

Yale, two-time defending Ivy League Tournament Champions, is coming off a 12-5 campaign and a No. 7 national ranking. The Bulldogs beat Princeton to take the league tournament before capturing a 2013 NCAA Tournament contest at Penn State. Only a last-second loss to Syracuse in the national quarterfinal at Maryland prevented the Elis from making their first semifinal appearance since 1990.

The 2014 Elis open at home against St. John's on Feb. 22.
