Yale Earns 5th Straight Post Season
Hosts Quinnipiac Tuesday Before Rivalry Saturday
NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Yale men's lacrosse team has been in every Ivy post-season tournament since its inception in 2010. The 2014 Bulldogs earned their fifth straight appearance with a 3-2 league record a week from the end of the regular season.
The Elis, two-time defending Ivy tourney champions, don't know what seed they are or where they will play the May 2-4 event that airs on ESPN. There is still a lot to be determined on the final Saturday of the Ancient Eight campaign, including a big rivalry contest at Reese Stadium.
We do know that Cornell, Harvard and Penn are also playing in the league tournament and that the No. 1 seed hosts. Everything should be determined just after 4 p.m. on Saturday.
The Bulldogs host Harvard (4-1) in a game airing live on Fox College Sports at 1:30 on Saturday. Princeton (2-3) is at Cornell (4-1), while Penn (4-2) has already completed its Ivy slate.
Yale, which could be ranked among the top 10 in all the polls when it plays Quinnipiac Tuesday night at 7, was the No. 2 seed in the 2013 Ivy event. It has been No. 3 twice (2012, 2010) and a No. 4 once (2011).
