At Yale 2005: Kolkin played in all 12 games and had two ground balls. 2004: He competed in nine games, picking up three ground balls. At the Gilman School: Kolkin was a three-year letterman for the lacrosse, indoor track and football teams and captained the lacrosse team. He also helped lead the football team to three league championships. Personal: Thomas "Tap" Kolkin was born on October 22, 1984, to Mitchell Kolkin and Kathleen Pontone. He is a member of Trumbull College.
