Andy Shorten Named To ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District I Second Team

Tied For Third On Team In Points

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Andy Shorten, who is tied for third on the Yale men's soccer team with six points, has been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District I second team. Shorten, a junior from Hudson, Ohio, has started 10 games at midfield and has two goals and two assists.

Shorten is a pre-med and economics major at Yale. His top performance this season came when he had a goal and an assist against SMU. He also assisted on the game-winning goal in the Bulldogs' 2-1 victory over Boston College.

To be eligible for the Academic All-America program, student-athletes must have a minimum of a 3.20 grade point average, be a starter or important reserve, and have played in at least half of the team's games.

Yale (5-7-3, 2-3 Ivy) hosts Brown on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. at Reese Stadium.
