NEW HAVEN, Conn. – After playing its first four games away from home, the Yale men's soccer team is anxious to make its first appearance in newly renovated Reese Stadium. It comes on Wednesday night when Central Connecticut comes to town. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m.

The Bulldogs (0-4) are coming off a 1-0 loss to South Carolina on Sunday at the Brown Classic. Despite the outcome, Yale head coach Brian Tompkins was pleased with his team's effort against the Gamecocks, who are perennial NCAA Tournament participants. It was Yale's third one-goal defeat. A young Bulldogs squad is gaining valuable experience with each game. Two of those youngsters – defender Nick Alers and midfielder Max McKiernan – were selected to the all-tournament team at the Brown Classic.

Central Connecticut (1-2) also has been involved in close games. All three of the Blue Devils' games have ended 1-0. They beat Vermont in their opener and then fell to New Hampshire and Hartford. Eduardo Ortiz scored in the victory, while Anthony Occhialini has started all three games in goal.

Yale leads the all-time series with Central Connecticut 4-2-1, including a 2-0 victory last year in New Britain. Kevin Peterson and Andy Hackbarth had the goals for the Bulldogs.
