Two Bulldogs Earn All-Ivy Recognition
Hackbarth, Alers Both Honorable Mention Selections
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Two Yale men's soccer players have earned All-Ivy recognition. Junior Andy Hackbarth and freshman Nick Alers, who both helped anchor a Yale defense that posted four shutouts, were honorable mention selections.
Hackbarth, now a three-time All-Ivy selection, was one of only three players to start all 17 games. He scored two goals, both on penalty kicks. The first was the game-winner against Sacred Heart. He is a native of Bend, Ore.
Alers, a San Jose Costa, Rica native, made an immediate impact in his rookie season, starting 16 games, the most of any freshman.
