First Road Game Takes Yale To Lehigh

Bulldogs Seek 2-0 Start

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale men's soccer cruised to a 2-0 victory over Central Connecticut in its home opener on Friday night. The Bulldogs will hope for a similar result when they make their first appearance on the road Sunday at Lehigh. Kickoff at the Ulrich Sports Complex is slated for 1 p.m.

Yale looked very sharp in the victory over Lehigh. Sophomore Max McKiernan scored in the first half, and freshman Max Morice tallied his first career goal in the second half. The Bulldogs outshot the Blue Devils 16-12 and had the better of the play.

Lehigh (0-1-1) has allowed only one goal in its two games but has yet to score. Goalkeeper Ciaran Nugent has stopped nine of 10 shots on the season.

The Bulldogs are 3-0 all-time against the Mountain Hawks, including a 1-0 victory last year in New Haven. Cody Wilkins scored the only goal of the game, assisted by Charlie Neil.
