  • Impact Freshmen Class Headed To Yale In Fall

    A very talented freshman class will be joining the Yale men’s soccer program this fall. Kylie Stannard, The 5K Corral Head Coach of the Bulldogs, will welcome six newcomers to the roster. Jack Arnold (Brentwood, Tennessee), Matthew Massaad (La Jolla, California), DJ Palmer (Manahawkin, New Jersey), Aldo Quevedo (Dallas, Texas), Tom Wallenstein (Leipzig, Germany) and Mark Winhoffer (South Elgin, Illinois) all bring outstanding credentials.
  • Stannard Announces Summer ID Clinic Dates At Yale

    Kylie Stannard, The 5K Corral Head Coach of the Yale men’s soccer team, is pleased to announce the dates for two Bulldog Soccer Academy College Prep Summer ID Camps at Yale. The first session is set for July 22-23 and the second will be August 12-13.
  • Very Special Recruit Added To Yale Roster

    The Yale men’s soccer team has added a very special recruit to its roster. Ten-year-old Logan Kline of East Haven has joined the Bulldogs through Team Impact, whose mission is to improve the quality of life for children facing life-threatening and chronic illnesses through the power of team.
  • Fall Academic All-Ivy Announced

    The Ivy League recently announced its fall Academic All-Ivy selections and 10 Bulldogs were honored. All were starters or key reserves on an officially recognized varsity team with 3.0 or better cumulative grade point averages. Each Ivy institution nominated five men and five women from its eligible student-athletes.
  • Kinnane Elected Captain

    Archie Kinnane, who has appeared in 45 games in his career, has been elected captain of the 2017-18 Yale men’s soccer team. The announcement was made following a team vote at Monday’s post season banquet.
  • Team Awards Announced At Banquet

    The Yale men’s soccer team gathered one final time in the Schley Room at Ingalls Rink to celebrate the season and hand out the team awards. Five players were honored for their contributions.
  • Flugstad-Clarke, Downs Earn All-Ivy Honors

    Senior Henry Flugstad-Clarke, who led the Bulldogs with four goals, and sophomore Nicky Downs, who had a team-best 11 points, were both named second team All-Ivy.

    A quick glance at the final score, and it seems Brown may have had its way with Yale Saturday at Stevenson-Pincince Field. Nothing could be further from the truth. The Bears needed two goals in the final 1:48 of the second half to escape with a 3-1 victory over the Bulldogs.

    Yale turned in one of its most complete performances of the season in a 3-1 win over Saint Joseph’s on a gorgeous early November night at Reese Stadium. The Bulldogs finished their scoring chances and were stingy on defense in cruising to a victory in their final non-conference game of the season.

  • Downs Earns Academic Award

    Nicky Downs has had a big impact on the field for the Yale soccer team in his still early career. As a rookie, he earned honorable mention All-Ivy recognition, and this fall as a sophomore, his five assists are tied for the second most in the Ivy League. Downs also has shined in the classroom, and for his hard work in both areas he has been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District I first team.
  • Bulldogs Drop OT Heartbreaker To Hartford

    It had been more than 10 years since state rivals Yale and Hartford last met prior to Tuesday night in West Hartford. It proved to be worth the wait as the two teams played a spirited 117 minutes of even soccer before the Hawks came away with a 2-1 victory on Jeff Tryon’s goal with 2:24 left in overtime.

    Yale learned what teams throughout the Big Ten have known for years. Michigan State’s DeMartin Soccer Complex is a very difficult place to play. The Bulldogs made MSU work, creating a number of scoring chances, but ultimately dropped a 2-0 decision to the Spartans, who improved to 7-0-1 at home this season.

    The progress a young Yale soccer team has made this fall already is quite apparent. The Bulldogs, though, made their biggest statement yet on Sunday when they got second-half goals from Henry Flugstad-Clarke, Justin Lobe and Ollie Iselin en route to a dominating 3-0 victory over Cornell at Berman Field.

    Yale did an outstanding job containing a highly skilled UConn offense, holding the Huskies to one goal and limiting them to only 10 shots. UConn, though, has a pretty stingy defense as well and one goal was enough to allow the 13th-ranked Huskies to escape Reese Stadium with a victory on a gorgeous night before a big crowd.

    The Bulldogs take a break from Ivy League play Tuesday night at Reese Stadium. It won’t provide much of breather, though. Nationally ranked and perennial NCAA power UConn comes to town. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m., and the game can be viewed on both the Ivy League Digital Network and ESPN3.
  • Defending Ivy Champion Dartmouth Knocks Off Yale

    It’s taken the two-time defending Ivy League champion Dartmouth men’s soccer team a little while to find its way this fall. The Big Green, though, seem to be hitting stride as the heart of Ivy play gets under way. Dartmouth turned its second straight very strong performance, knocking off Yale 2-0 at Burnham Field.
