Scored In Each Of Yale's Three Victories, Named Rookie Of Week
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The goals continue to come from first year Paolo Carroll and so do the Ivy honors. For the third week in a row, Carroll, who scored in all three games last week, has been named the league's rookie of the week.
The week started strong for Carroll when he tallied a goal and an assist in Tuesday's 4-0 victory at Bryant. In Friday's 2-1 victory over George Mason, he had Yale's first goal, and he capped the week by scoring the game-winning goal in Sunday's 1-0 win at Fairleigh Dickinson.
In his last four games, Carroll has scored three goals and added three assists. He is the league leader with 11 points overall and shares the league lead with four goals.
Nicky Downs, who scored once and had three assists in three games, was named to the honor roll.
The Bulldogs, who have won three straight games and are unbeaten in four straight, open Ivy League play at Harvard on Saturday. Kickoff is slated for 4 p.m.
