HANOVER, N.H. - Paul King scored a pair of goals and Fernando Huthmacher added a goal and an assist as Fairleigh Dickinson topped Yale 3-0 on the second day of the Dartmouth Classic at Burnham Field. Travis Chulick made a season-high seven saves in goal for the Bulldogs.
The game remained scoreless until early in the second half when Huthmacher one-timed a Christian Vasconez cross over Chulick's head. King's first goal came in the 77th minute, and he scored again with less than five minutes remaining.
The Knights (3-2) outshot Yale 17-7, but the Bulldogs had an 11-2 edge in corner kicks.
"It was one of those days where nothing seemed to go right for us," said Yale head coach Brian Tompkins. "FDU is a good team, and they caught us with a couple of good goals. This weekend was a valuable learning experience for us. Hopefully, we can bounce back on Wednesday."
The Bulldogs host Stony Brook on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Reese Stadium.
