The 16th-ranked Yale men's soccer team lost to Boston College, 2-0, in a non-conference contest at the Newton Campus Soccer Field in Newton, Mass., on Tuesday evening. The loss drops the Bulldogs' record to 6-4 overall and 2-0 in conference play.

After a scoreless first half, Yale allowed its first goal since the September 21 match against Creighton, snapping goalkeeper Matt Aleksinas' 573-minute shutout streak.

Boston College (6-5-2, 3-3-1 Big East) broke the tie when Oktay Kilic beat Aleksinas in the 70th minute. Neil Krause added a second goal 13 minutes later for the Eagles.

"We had some difficulties in the first half, but played better in the second half," said Yale head coach Brian Tompkins. "Two defensive mistakes cost us and we were not able to recover from them."

Yale recorded 10 shots in the match and held a 5-4 edge in corner kicks. Aleksinas made three saves for the Bulldogs.

The Bulldogs return to action this Saturday for a conference home match against Cornell at 7 p.m.
