NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Ryan Raybould, the 2004 Yale men's soccer captain, has signed a developmental contract with the Kansas City Wizards of Major League Soccer. Raybould, a first team All-Ivy selection last fall, spent a week at the Wizards' training camp in February.
"Ryan has worked hard to make his dream of being a professional player a reality," said Yale head coach Brian Tompkins. "I am delighted that he has seized the opportunity presented him by Coach Gansler and the Wizards, and I am sure he will take full advantage of the chance to learn and improve. Like Brian Roberts before him, Ryan is living proof that with hard work and dedication it is possible to get an incredible Yale education in addition to pursuing ones sport to its highest levels. All of us connected with Yale soccer are proud of his accomplishment and wish him well"
