NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Andrew Dealy, a first team All-Ivy and All-New England selection last fall, has been named to the College Soccer News 2004 Preseason All-America Third Team. He is one of only two Ivy Leaguers to be recognized. Last fall Dealy led the league in assists (8), was second in game-winning goals (4) and tied for third in points (18). He was named to the all-tournament team at both the Brown and Yale Classics. Against Princeton, he scored both goals in a 2-0 victory, and he had four assists in the win over Quinnipiac.
As a sophomore he earned honorable mention All-Ivy recognition after finishing second on the team in goals (5) and third in points (11). In addition Dealy was a second team District I All-Academic selection and Academic All-Ivy. As a freshman, he led the team in scoring with 12 points. He was named the Ivy League Rookie of the Week once.
Dealy is a member of the Region I Olympic Development team and has participated in the national team tryouts. He also is the City League and Allderdice High School all-time leading goal scorer.
Yale opens the season against San Francisco on Sept. 10 at the Brown Classic.
