NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Shannon Brooks, who was named the most valuable player of the Yale Classic Presented by Barnes & Noble, has been named the Ivy League Player of the Week. Brooks scored the game-winning goal in overtime to lead the Bulldogs to a 3-2 victory over American on Sunday. He also scored Yale's only goal in Friday's 1-1 tie with defending Big Ten champion Michigan State.
Brooks, Yale's captain, has started all four games and leads the team in scoring with four points.
The Bulldogs are in action this weekend at Dartmouth's Tournament. They play Rhode Island on Friday at 1:30 p.m. and then meet Drake on Sunday at noon.
