NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Senior James Stewart, who had a role in all three Yale goals in Saturday's win over Princeton, was named the Ivy League Player of the Week, while freshman Jordan Raybould, whose goal in the 82nd minute snapped a 2-2 tie, earned Rookie of the Week recognition.
Stewart assisted on Yale's first goal before scoring the second goal when he controlled a pass, and chipped a ball in from five yards out. With the score tied at two, his header in the 82nd minute hit off the right post and deflected right to Raybould, who knocked it in. It was Raybould's first career goal. Yale coach Brian Tompkins also praised Raybould for his defensive play.
Stewart leads the Bulldogs in assists with three and is second in points with seven. He entered the season with only three career points.
The Bulldogs are back in action on Wednesday when play at UConn at 7 p.m.
