NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Erik Geiger, who made 12 saves in Yale's scoreless tie with sixth-ranked Boston College, was named the Ivy League Player of the Week on Monday.
Geiger faced 33 shots in the match and made 12 very important saves. His best came in the final minute of regulation when he stopped Paul Gerstenberger's blast with his right hand. The 12 saves were a career high for Geiger, who has a 1.15 goals against average and an .838 save percentage.
After a nine-day layoff, the Bulldogs return to action on Saturday, hosting Dartmouth at 4:30 p.m. at Reese Stadium.
