NEW HAVEN, Conn. - After a goal and an assist in his first game against arch rival Harvard, freshman midfield Jon Carlos was rewarded with Ivy League Rookie of the Week honors. The Elis defeated the Crimson 3-1 on Saturday.
Carlos' game-winner came at 40:09, when he deflected an Alex Munns' cross past Crimson keeper Ryan Johnson. Carlos also assisted on Yale's first goal of the game, when he setup Liam Leonard's tally at 6:20.
The Southbury, Conn, native is tied for second in the Ivy League with three assists and ranks second on the Bulldogs with seven points.
The Elis return to action on Tuesday when they visit Central Connecticut at 3 p.m.
