NEW HAVEN, Conn. - A five-game winning streak has propelled the Yale men's soccer team into the national spotlight. The Bulldogs are ranked 16th this week in the NSCAA/adidas national poll. Yale, 6-3 overall, is 2-0 in Ivy League play and tied for first place with Brown. It is the first time since 1993 that the Bulldogs have won their first two Ivy games.
Saturday's 1-0 win over Dartmouth came in dramatic fashion. Brian Roberts scored the only goal of the game just before the final horn sounded. The Bulldogs had intense pressure on the Dartmouth goal in the final seconds, and Roberts headed the ball into the net just as the horn sounded.
Yale plays at Boston College on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. and then hosts Cornell on Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Soccer-Lacrosse Stadium.
