NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Midfielder Andrew Dealy, who is sixth all-time at Yale in points with 52, was named to the 2004 CoSIDA Academic All-District first team. A political science major, Dealy has started 14 games and is tied for second on the Bulldogs in points with 11 (4 goals, 3 assists). In addition, he was named to the all-tournament team at the Yale Classic early in the season.
Dealy was a first team All-Ivy and All-New England selection last fall after leading the league in assists (8) and finishing second in game-winning goals (4) and tied for third in points (18). He was named to the all-tournament team at both the Brown and Yale Classics. Against Princeton, he scored both goals in a 2-0 victory, and he had four assists in the win over Quinnipiac.
As a sophomore he earned honorable mention All-Ivy recognition after finishing second on the team in goals (5) and third in points (11). In addition Dealy was a second team District I All-Academic selection and Academic All-Ivy. As a freshman, he led the team in scoring with 12 points. He was named the Ivy League Rookie of the Week once.
The Bulldogs, who are currently tied with Princeton and Harvard for second place in the Ivy League with six points, play at Brown on Friday night at 7 p.m. and then conclude the regular season on Nov. 13 against Princeton at 4 p.m. at the Soccer-Lacrosse Stadium.
