NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Junior Gage Hills, who scored the game-winning goal in Yale's 1-0 victory over Princeton on Saturday, has been named the Ivy League Player of the Week. The victory, coupled with Dartmouth's 2-2 tie with Brown, earned the Bulldogs a share of the Ivy League title.
After a scoreless first half, Hills got the Bulldogs on the board at 59:22. Jordan Rieger sent a long pass to Alex Munns, who dribbled down the near sideline before sending a cross to Hills, who deflected it past Princeton goalkeeper Bobby Guelich. The goal was Hills' third of the year and his second game-winner.
Yale finished the regular season with a 10-3-4 overall record. It was the sixth time in head coach Brian Tompkins' tenure that the Bulldogs have won at least 10 games.
