Guzinski Named Second Team All-Ivy

Nov. 21, 2007

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Alex Guzinski, one of only two players to start all 17 games, was named second team All-Ivy. Guzinski, a Palo Alto, Calif., native, is a three-year starter for the Bulldogs. This season he helped anchor a defense that allowed just 22 goals and posted five shutouts. His only goal was the game-winner in Yale's 1-0 victory over Army.

Two other Yale players, goalkeeper Erik Geiger and midfielder Jordan Raybould, earned honorable mention recognition. Geiger, a Chatham, N.J., native, started 15 games in goal and posted a 1.20 goals against average and a .793 save percentage. His top performance came against sixth-ranked Boston College when he made 12 saves in a scoreless tie. For his efforts, he was named the Ivy League Player of the Week. Geiger finished the year with three shutouts. He also was named honorable mention All-Ivy in 2005.

Raybould, a Kansas City native, anchored Yale's midfield. He scored the game-winning goal in the Bulldogs' 4-1 victory over Columbia and also had an assist against Penn. He started 16 games.
