Three Yale Players Earn First Team All-New England Honors

NEW HAVEN, Conn. -Seniors Jay Alberts (Sunset Hills, MO) and Brian Roberts (La Verne, CA) and junior Andrew Dealy (Pittsburgh, PA) have been named first team All-New England.

Alberts, who recently was invited to attend the 2004 adidas Major League Soccer Player Combine on Jan. 11-13, is only the fifth player in Ivy League history to be selected first team All-Ivy four times. He is second all-time at Yale in assists with 22 and fifth in total points with 62. As a senior this fall, he tied for the team lead in goals with five.

Roberts, the 2003 team captain, was also a first team All-Ivy selection this fall. He scored the game-winning goal in the final seconds against Dartmouth and started every game of his Yale career.

Dealy, a first team All-Ivy selection this fall, led the Bulldogs with 18 points. He also topped the Ivy League in assists with eight, and his five goals tied for the team lead. Three of his goals were game-winners.

Yale finished with a 10-6-1 overall record and was 5-1-1 in Ivy League play.
