No. 2 Yale to Play CSA Nationals

No. 2 Yale to Play CSA Nationals

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Coming off an undefeated Ivy League season, the Yale men's squash team will travel to Cambridge on Friday to compete in the CSA Squash Men's National Tournament. There will be 63 teams competing in eight divisions; Yale is in the A Division, playing for the Potter Cup. Trinity College, who has won 12 consecutive National Championships, will be Yale's toughest competition for the trophy. Yale has been seeded No. 2 for the tournament, behind No. 1 Trinity.

Yale will play its first match against No. 7 seeded Dartmouth at 11a.m. on Friday. If the Bulldogs win, they will move on to play the winner of the No. 3 seeded Princeton versus No. 6 seeded Harvard. A complete view of the bracket can be found here: In the regular season, Yale defeated Dartmouth by a 7-2 score.

Yale maintained a 13-1 record in the regular season, with its sole loss coming from No. 1 Trinity. The Bulldogs are on a six-match winning streak, which they hope to continue this weekend. With a  win in the national championship, the Yale men's team would match the feat accomplished by the Yale women's team last week.

"We're definitely going in to the tournament with a lot of confidence after ending the regular season on such a strong note. The goal is to win the whole thing, anything less would be disappointing. We've worked hard these past two weeks and everyone looks good. Hopefully we can match the girls and bring another national championship home," said captain Naishadh Lalwani.
