2012 Men's Squash Award Winners Announced
Yale Squash has announced the winners of its four annual awards, which recognized the efforts and achievements of five Bulldogs in the 2011-12 season. Yale marched to the top of the national rankings following its epic win over 252-time unbeaten Trinity in January, and finished sixth overall at the CSA Team Championships.

Winter Academic All-Ivy Announced
The Ivy League has released its list of student-athletes selected for 2011-12 Academic All-Ivy honors in its winter sport, and 10 Bulldogs were honored.

Robinson Named Captain of 2012-13 Men's Squash Team
Junior Hywel Robinson (Bridgend, Wales) has been named captain of the 2012-13 Yale men’s squash team. Robinson was chosen by his teammates in a vote last week, and will take over a team that was the nation’s No. 1 squad at points in the 2011-12 season.

Chan Selected First Team All-Ivy
Junior Kenneth Chan, who played at the top spot for most of the season for the No. 6 Yale men's squash team, was selected First Team All-Ivy by a vote of the Ivy League's coaches. Chan posted an 8-6 record during the regular season, and was an integral part of the Bulldog squad that rose as high as No. 1 in the nation at points this season.

Bulldogs Shut Door on 2011-2012 Season at CSA Individual Championships
It's been a memorable year for the Yale men's squash team, and as of Sunday - with the completion of the CSA Individual Championships - that year is officially in the books. The Bulldogs finished up play Saturday and Sunday, and while the trip to Amherst proved a quiet one for the Yale squad, the Elis will move into 2012-2013 with much to be proud of.

Bulldogs Close Out 2011-2012 at CSA Individual Championships
After a sixth-place finish at the CSA Team Championships, the Yale men's squash team heads to Amherst, Mass. Friday for the three-day CSA Individual Championships. Last year's top Bulldog in the final rankings was Kenneth Chan, who closed out the season as the nation's twelfth-best player. The individual championships play a major role in determining those final rankings.

Martin Through to Quarterfinals at CSA Individual Championships
Six Bulldogs headed to Amherst, Mass. to compete in the CSA Individual Championships this weekend. Sophomore Neil Martin was the last Eli standing after Day One, as he secured a spot in the Molloy Division third round with a bye and a win in Friday's action.

Roberts Nominated for Skillman Award
Yale senior John Roberts solidified his place in college squash lore with his epic 3-2 win over Trinity's Johan Detter in the match that broke the Bantams' 13-year win streak and catapulted the Bulldogs to the top of the college squash world. But Roberts may not be done making history: the Belfast, Ireland native was recently named one of six nominees for the Skillman Award, the "Heisman Trophy" of College Squash.

Bulldogs Take Sixth at CSA Team Championships
The Yale men's squash team fell to Rochester 5-4 in a consolation match at the CSA Team Championships Sunday to finish sixth overall. In the championship match, host Princeton knocked off Trinity to become the first national champion other than the Bantams in over a decade.

No. 3 Bulldogs Down No. 7 Dartmouth for Second Time in Eight Days, Head to 5/6 Match Sunday
A day after being upset by No. 6 Cornell in the quarterfinals of the CSA Team Championships, the No. 3 Yale men's squash team bounced back in its first consolation round match against No. 7 Dartmouth. The Bulldogs bested the Big Green 6-3, and will head to a 5th/6th place match against Rochester Sunday.

No. 3 Bulldogs Look To Cap Magical Season with National Title
The No. 3 Yale men's squash team became the first team other than No. 1 Trinity to hold the top spot in the Dunlop Men's College Squash Rankings in 13 years in the week following their Jan. 18 upset of the Bantams. Now, after a spectacular 14-1 regular season that included wins over seven team in the current top ten, the Bulldogs hope to become the first team in 13 years to assume that spot at season's end by dint of a win at the CSA Team Championships this weekend at Princeton.

No. 3 Bulldogs Fall in CSA Team Championship Quarterfinals
The first time No. 3 Yale and No. 6 Cornell met this season, it took a clutch victory from senior Robby Berner to bring home the 5-4 victory for the Bulldogs. Berner was the story for the Bulldogs again Friday when the two teams rematched at the CSA Team Championships, but this time as his team's lone winner in an 8-1 quarterfinal defeat.

The No. 3 Yale men's squash team rounded out a memorable regular season with an exciting 5-4 win over No. 4 Harvard Saturday at the Brady Squash Center. With the win, the Bulldogs clinched second-place in the Ivy League, a game behind No. 2 Princeton.

No. 3 Yale Passes Final Road Test
The No. 3 Yale men's squash team grabbed a 6-3 win at Dartmouth Friday in its last regular-season road game before a Sunday showdown with No. 4 Harvard in New Haven. Seniors accounted for half of the Bulldogs' match wins, as John Roberts (No. 3), captain Ryan Dowd (No. 4) and Robby Berner (No. 6) took their matches in five, three and four games, respectively.

No. 1 Bulldogs Bounce Back Against No. 10 Penn
The No. 1 Yale men's squash teamed was handed its first taste of defeat Saturday when No. 3 Princeton beat up on the Bulldogs 8-1. But the Elis weren't about to make it back-to-back defeats, and responded Sunday with an emphatic 8-1 victory over No. 10 Penn in Philadelphia.

No. 1 Bulldogs Hit the Road for Showdowns with No. 3 Tigers, No. 10 Quakers
If last weekend's 7-2 win over No. 13 Navy was any indication, the Yale men's squash team wants to hold on to its place at the top of the Dunlop Men's College Squash Rankings for a very long time. But with a number of tough matches and the CSA Team Championships looming, the Bulldogs have their work cut out for them if they hope to finish the season at that spot. The first major test will be this weekend's grueling trip to No. 3 Princeton and No. 10 Penn.

The No. 1 Yale men's squash team finally met its match Saturday when it fell 8-1 to No. 3 Princeton in Princeton Saturday. The lone Bulldog victor was freshman Joey Roberts at the No. 9 spot (3-0).

Bulldogs Knock Trinity From Nation's Top Spot After 13 Years at No. 1
For the first time in 13 years, a team other than Trinity is on top of the men's squash world. That team is the Yale Bulldogs, whose 5-4 win over the Bantams last week garnered them the top spot in this week's Dunlop Men's College Squash Rankings. The Elis will play for the first time as the nation's best Saturday when they take on No. 13 Navy in Annapolis, Md.

Roberts Named Harrow Sports College Squash Player of the Week
Senior John Roberts will be forever remembered as the man who ended the streak: it was he who was on the court with then-undefeated Trinity and No. 2 Yale tied 4-4 Jan. 18, and he who finished of Johan Detter to clinch the Bulldogs' historic victory. For that epic win, and another he added against Western Ontario Friday night, the Belfast, Ireland native has been named this week's Harrow Sports College Squash Player of the Week.

Coming off two 5-4 victories in its last three matches, the No. 2 Yale men's squash team was due for an easier match. They got it Tuesday afternoon, defeating the Brown Bears 9-0 in Providence.

If anyone was worried that the Bulldogs would experience a letdown following their historic defeat of Trinity Wednesday night, they shouldn't have been. Despite a quick turnaround and long ride to Rochester, N.Y., Yale responded with a dominating 8-1 win over Western Ontario Friday.

Yale All-Access will offer exclusive live streaming video from the main courts at the Brady Squash Center this Wednesday, when the Yale men's and women's teams host Trinity. The No. 2 Yale men's team came close to ending No. 1 Trinity’s legendary winning streak last time, falling to the Bantams 5-4 in last year’s National Championship match. Both teams are undefeated this season, with Trinity’s winning streak now at 252. The No. 2 Yale women’s team, which has not lost since falling to Trinity 6-3 at the Howe Cup third-place game on Feb. 28, 2010, beat the Bantams 6-3 last year as part of the Bulldogs’ undefeated National Championship season. This year, Trinity is ranked No. 5.

No one had been able to beat the Trinity men's squash team since 1998. The Bantams traveled to New Haven Wednesday night with the longest active win streak in varsity intercollegiate sports: 252 straight matches. But thanks to the Yale Bulldogs, they left with a loss.

No. 2 Yale Men’s Squash Shuts Out No. 22 Amherst
The No. 2 Yale men’s squash team shut out No. 22 Amherst on Sunday in their first match back in the new year. The Bulldogs won each of the nine contests in three straight games, demonstrating the team’s depth. The Bulldogs thus far have boasted a 4-1 record, with the sole loss coming from Harvard at the Ivy Scrimmage in November.

Yale Squash Wins Two on the Road
The No. 2 Yale men’s squash team kicked off its regular season this Saturday with double wins over No. 8 Franklin and Marshall and Haverford. The Bulldogs bested the Franklin and Marshall Big Green in the morning by a 6-3 score, moving the Big Green to 0-3 for the season. Junior Kenneth Chan won a five-game match for the Bulldogs at No. 1 (11-5, 10-12, 3-11, 11-2, 11-9). Yale swept No. 4 – No. 8 with wins from senior John Roberts, senior captain Ryan Dowd, sophomore Neil Martin and senior Samuel Clayman, respectively.

The No. 2 Yale Bulldogs will kick off their regular season this weekend with two away matches. First, the team will travel to Lancaster, Pa. to take on the No. 8 Franklin and Marshall Big Green. On Saturday, the Bulldogs play the Haverford Fords. Last season, the Bulldogs bested Franklin and Marshall 8-1 when the teams met at the Brady Squash Center, but did not contest Haverford.

The Yale men’s squash team returns to action this weekend with its first official scrimmage of the 2011-12 season. The Bulldogs will host the all of the Ivy League teams for the two-day tournament. In the first round, Yale will take on Columbia beginning on Saturday at 12:45 at the Brady Squash Center.

Irish National Champion John Rooney Named Assistant Squash Coach
John Rooney, who has won the past two National Championships in Ireland, has been named assistant coach for the Yale Squash program. Rooney joins head coach Dave Talbott and assistant coach Pam Saunders in working with the Bulldogs, who are coming off back-to-back Ivy League championships on the men’s side and an undefeated National and Ivy League championship season on the women’s side.
