NEW HAVEN, Conn. — No. 3 Yale will head south this weekend to take on Ivy League rivals No. 10 Penn and No. 7 Princeton.
The Bulldogs (10-1, 2-0) finished last week with victories over No. 4 St. Lawrence, No. 9 Western Ontario and No. 14 Navy after a 5-4 loss to No. 1 Trinity last Wednesday. Yale's squad will look to remain unbeaten in Ivy League play against two strong opponents.
On Saturday, the Elis will go up against Penn (6-2, 2-1 Ivy). The Quakers began the season with four straight wins before suffering 9-0 losses against No. 2 Harvard and No. 1 Trinity. Penn will come into the match hoping to build on the success of its most recent match, a 7-2 win against higher-ranked rival Princeton.
Meanwhile, the Tigers (3-5, 1-2 Ivy) will host Yale on Sunday hoping to rebound after two consecutive losing efforts: the Sunday defeat against Penn and a Wednesday night loss against Trinity.
This weekend's matches will give Yale a chance to further solidify its position as one of the top teams in the country. The Elis will begin play at 12 p.m. both days.
