Elis lose just one total game

NEW HAVEN, Conn. — The Yale Men's Squash Team secured two decisive wins on Monday afternoon, defeating No. 26 Amherst 9-0 before taking down No. 24 Tufts by the same score. This is the second straight year that the Bulldogs have posted a 4-0 record to start the season.

The Elis played Amherst first in a noon match, notching five wins and clinching the team victory within an hour. By the end of the match, the Bulldogs had recorded eight sweeps and lost only one total game across all nine matches.

Yale took on Tufts later in the afternoon at 4 p.m. No. 1 seed Spencer Lovejoy and No. 3 seed Harrison Gill sat out, which gave first-year Nadav Raziel his second opportunity this season to play in the No. 1 spot. Lovejoy and Gill's vacancies also allowed sophomore Jacob Rhee to play in the top nine for the first time this season (as the No. 8 seed), and first-year Patrick Feeley to win his first career match as the No. 10 seed.

In the match against Tufts, all ten Yale athletes shut out their opponents for the first time this season.

The Bulldogs play next on Saturday at noon in a home match against No. 4 Penn. This will be their second Ivy-League match of the year.
