Bulldogs Blast Lord Jeffs, 9-0

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Bulldogs improved their record to 5-0 Saturday afternoon, easily handling the Lord Jeffs of Amherst, 9-0. As in their match against Wesleyan earlier in the day, the Elis won all 27 games.

Seniors Ho Ming Chiu and Moshe Sarfaty anchored a strong middle of the Bulldog lineup, handling their opponents with ease. No. 4 Chiu defeated Tom Rapisarda 3-0 (9-2, 9-0, 9-2), and No. 5 Sarfaty beat Kevin Cecala 3-0 (9-0, 9-2, 9-0).

The usual suspects took care of business at the top of the Yale lineup. No. 1 Max Samuel downed Mark Rapisarda 3-0 (9-3, 9-3, 9-0) and No. 2 Aaron Fuchs beat Jerome Giovinazzo 3-0 (9-6, 9-0, 9-0).

Stepping into the Bulldog lineup for the first time in the new year were No. 8 Russell Feldman and No. 9 Christopher Reid. Feldman thrashed Brad Corbin 3-0 (9-0, 9-0, 9-1), and Reid beat Nick Kramer 3-0 (9-2, 9-0, 9-3).

The Elis will host the University of Rochester next Friday at 6 p.m. before continuing their Ivy League schedule next Saturday at home against Cornell at 9:00 a.m. and Dartmouth at 1:00 p.m.
