Jan. 19, 2008

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Yale finished off an Ivy sweep Saturday afternoon, defeating Dartmouth by a 9-0 score. The Bulldogs are now 7-0 on the season.

After dropping the first game 9-6 to Andrew Boumford, No. 1 Aaron Fuchs came back to win the final three games, 9-2, 9-2, 9-6. Elsewhere on the ladder, No. 3 Francis Johnson picked up an excruciatingly close win over Adam King, 3-1 (10-8, 9-2, 6-9, 10-8).

Perhaps most impressive was No. 7 Colin Campbell's win over Stephen Preefer. Campbell dropped the first two games, 10-8, 9-3, only to storm back with a 9-6 win in the third game and a 9-1 win in the fourth. At 7-3 in the fifth game, Preefer retired with an injury, and the Bulldogs picked up another win.

Yale plays Bowdoin tomorrow at 12:30 p.m. before hosting the No. 1-ranked Trinity Bantams on Wednesday at 5 p.m.
