NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Bulldogs bounced back from their first loss of the season Wednesday against Trinity by defeating Bates College, Navy, and Franklin & Marshall at home in the Yale Round Robin Saturday.
Against Bates College, Yale pulled out a 7-2 victory. In their seven wins, the Bulldogs dropped a total of three games.
At No. 2, Ryan Dowd won in three games 9-4, 9-6, 9-0 over opponent William Katz. Christopher Plimpton defeated opponent Jordan Greenberg 9-0, 9-6, 9-7 at No. 3. Michael Maruca rolled to a 9-5, 9-6, 9-2 win over Matthew Marchisotto at No. 4. Playing No. 5, Robert Berner pulled out a 9-1, 10-8, 5-9, 9-2 win. At No. 7, Russell Feldman cruised to a 10-8, 9-7, 9-4 win. Christopher Reid won 9-2, 9-5, 9-3 at No. 8. Playing No. 9, Samuel Clayman battled to a 2-9, 9-7, 10-9, 9-3 victory.
The Bulldogs defeated the Naval Academy 8-1. Yale dropped only one game in its eight victories over Navy.
John Fulham, Todd Ruth, and Francis Johnson led the way at No. 1, 2 and 3, respectively. All three won without dropping a game. Playing No. 4, 5 and 6, Colin Campbell, Christopher Plimpton, and Billy Hatch all won in three games as well. Russell Feldman rolled to a 9-3, 9-1, 9-7 win at No. 8. Christopher Reid pulled out a 9-2, 2-9, 9-3, 9-1 win at No. 9.
Yale rolled to a 9-0 win over Franklin & Marshall in its last match of the day. The Bulldogs dropped a total of three games in the victory.
Yale will play Denison Sunday.
