Elis Top Bears

Feb. 11, 2006

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The nationally ranked No. 3 Elis fought off a feisty Brown squad this afternoon, on the road in Providence, R.I. Despite losing 9-0, the Bears challenged the Bulldogs in multiple matches.

Julian Illingworth cruised to a 3-0 win at No. 1. The senior captain has yet to lose a match this year.

"Our play today was punctilious," Illingworth said. "Brown put forth a solid effort, but we were ready to play."

Ho Ming Chiu, playing at No. 2, gutted out a 3-2 victory, while No. 5 Avner Geva, No. 7 Francis Johnson, and No. 9 Ethan Oetter all won 3-0.

The Bulldogs return to action next Friday, when they begin competition at the College Squash Association team championships, in Princeton, N.J.
