Yale Dominates Harvard, 7-2

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Yale closed out its 2007-2008 regular season with a bang, scoring a dominant 7-2 win over the Harvard Crimson Wednesday evening at the Brady Squash Center. The Bulldogs finish the regular season 11-2 (5-1 Ivy), second place in the Ancient Eight behind Princeton.

The bottom of the Eli lineup came up huge, putting together a 4-0 record. No. 6 Moshe Sarfaty beat J. Reed Endresen, 3-0 (9-4, 9-6, 9-5), No. 7 Todd Ruth dominated Franklin Cohen, 3-0 (9-1, 9-7, 9-1), No. 8 Colin Campbell handily defeated Ned Reeves, 3-0 (9-1, 9-1, 9-2), and No. 9 Naishadh Lalwani cruised to a victory over Alastair Smith, 3-0 (9-3, 10-8, 9-4).

The most impressive performance of the night, however, came from No. 2 Aaron Fuchs. Fuchs quickly fell behind two games to Verdi DiSesa before winning a tight 10-8 third game. Fuchs then rolled 9-0, 9-0 to pick up the win for Yale.

No. 3 John Fulham and No. 4 Francis Johnson picked up the final two wins of the night. Fulham downed Richard Hill, 3-0 (9-7, 9-1, 9-2) and Johnson beat Niko Hrdy, 3-1 (6-9, 9-6, 9-7, 9-5).

The victory propelled the Bulldogs into the No. 3 seed in this weekend's CSA Championships. Yale will face the No. 6 Penn Quakers on Friday at 11:30 a.m. in Cambridge.
