Feb. 17, 2008

CAMBRIDGE, MA - Yale finished up its 2007-2008 season with a solid 6-3 win over Harvard in the third-place match on Sunday at the CSA team championships. Senior captain Moshe Sarfaty was able to pull out a five-game win in his last dual match at Yale.

The Bulldogs nearly pulled off an exact repeat of their 7-2 win over the Crimson on Wednesday, down to each match. No. 2 Aaron Fuchs and No. 3 John Fulham both defeated their opponents handily. Fuchs downed Verdi DiSesa, 3-0 (9-5, 9-6, 9-4) and Fulham handled Richard Hill, 3-0 (9-4, 9-6, 9-2).

The bottom of the Eli lineup was rock-solid as well. No. 7 Todd Ruth beat Franklin Cohen, 3-0 (9-3, 9-0, 9-0), No. 8 Colin Campbell downed Ned Reeves, 3-0 (9-3, 9-1, 9-5), and No. 9 Naishadh Lalwani defeated Alastair Smith, 3-0 (9-0, 9-6, 9-5).

Though the Bulldogs have no more team matches this season, they will compete in the CSA singles championships, hosted by Navy, from Feb. 29th to Mar. 2nd.

In other action in Cambridge on Sunday, Trinity beat Princeton by the score of 8-1 to win their tenth consecutive national title. The Bantams also extended their overall winning streak to 183 matches.
