Bulldogs Drop Diplomats, 9-0

LANCASTER, PA - After taking care of Penn earlier in the day, Yale improved to 2-0 on the season with a convincing 9-0 win Saturday evening over the Franklin & Marshall Diplomats.

Six of the nine wins for the Bulldogs came in three games. No. 1 Aaron Fuchs downed Chris Gagnier 9-0, 9-4, 9-0, No. 3 Francis Johnson beat Jehangir Aibara 9-6, 9-0, 9-1, No. 6 John Fulham defeated Ry Hawley 9-1, 9-3, 9-3, No. 7 William Hatch thrashed Patrick Pasquariello 9-0, 9-0, 9-2, and No. 9 Ethan Oetter beat Zarir Aibara 9-4, 9-0, 9-3.

After falling behind two games to love, No. 2 Todd Ruth won the last three games against Sadiq Madraswala 9-5, 10-8, 9-6 to pull out a tough five-game match. No. 4 Naishadh Lalwani's match also went the distance, as he beat Shane Slater in an epic 9-6, 9-5, 6-9, 2-9, 10-8 match.

After the Pennsylvania road trip, the Bulldogs will return home this Thursday to face off against Williams.
