NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Bulldogs finished the U.S. Squash and Racquet Association's U.S. Team Championships with a bang on Sunday at the Brady Squash Center, winning two matches. Yale "B" beat Harvard "B," 5-0, and Yale "A" beat Philadelphia "B" in a tight 3-2 match.
The Yale "B" squad of Ho Ming Chiu, Francis Johnson, Ethan Oetter, Colin Campbell and Bill Hatch was utterly dominant against the Crimson, sweeping all five matches. Chiu beat Niko Hrdy 3-1, Johnson defeated Todd Ostrow 3-1, Oetter thrashed his opponent 3-0, Campbell got by Ned Reeves 3-2, and Hatch beat Franklin Cohen 3-1.
The Yale "A" team of Nick Chirls, Max Samuel, Aaron Fuchs, Moshe Sarfaty and Todd Ruth had a tougher time against the "B" squad from Philadelphia, but still came through with a 3-2 victory. Chirls defeated Chris Callis 3-0, Fuchs downed Thomas Mattson 3-0, and Sarfaty eked out a 3-2 win over Matt Domenick to lead the Elis.
