Righi Closes Memorable Collegiate Career with Yale Graduation
As Swimming World magazine's 2005 National High School Swimmer of the Year, Alex Righi (Phoenix, Ariz./ Brophy College Prep) had his choice of many different schools for continuing his swimming career at the collegiate level. But Righi was looking well beyond the pool when he made the decision to become a Yale Bulldog. Now, four years later -- with his Yale degree and a slew of honors in hand -- Righi looks back on that decision as the perfect choice.

Alex Righi Co-Recipient of Mallory Award
Alex Righi, who single-handedly landed Yale in 21st place at the 2009 NCAA Championships, has been named the co-winner of the William Neely Mallory Award, the most prestigious athletic award given to a senior male at Yale. The award citation reads, "William Neely Mallory Award, given to the senior man who on the field of play and in life at Yale best represents the highest ideals of American sportsmanship and Yale tradition." The Mallory Award was presented as a part of the May 24 Class Day ceremonies.
