Bulldogs Deliver Strong Performance on Day 2 of the Terrier Invitational

BOSTON, Mass.After the morning's preliminary rounds, the Bulldogs took to the pool again in the afternoon for the finals, beginning with the 200 yard medley relay. The Elis' ‘A' squad turned in a time of 1:35.98 seconds, good for sixth overall, while the ‘B' corps took eighth with a time of 1:36.42.

A strong preliminary round in the morning saw three Bulldogs qualify for the A heat of the 400 yard individual medley. Yale's Matt Lee took fourth in the afternoon's finals with a time of 4:03.66, followed by teammates Jared Lovett (fifth) and Scott Shinton (seventh).

Mike Dominski was the only Bulldog to qualify for the top race in the100 yard butterfly, and swam a 51:81 in the final round to earn 11 points. Lugar Choi, Yale's lone representative in the A heat of the finals of the men's 200 yard freestyle, turned in a time of 1:42.35 to take fifth for the Elis.

Yale's Zak Murek took third overall in the 100 yard breastroke with his time of 58.41, combining with teammates James Remigino and Chris Luu to give the Bulldogs three double-digit points earners in that event. The same was true for Yale in the finals of the100 yard backstroke, as Dominski, captain Tom Robinson and Jason Choi placed sixth through eighth in the top finals heat.

The Bulldogs wrapped up Saturday's competition in grand fashion, as their A corps took second overall in the 800 yard freestyle relay with a time of 6:53.29. The B team also delivered a good performance, grabbing seventh in the event.

Yale will be back in action Sunday to close out the Terrier Invitational before returning home for a meet against Southern Connecticut Sunday.
